Face Data Collection

1. What Face Data Does the App Collect?

The app collects facial images through your device camera purely for entertainment and prank purposes as part of a simulated lie detection experience. Specifically:

  • Real-time facial images captured during the lie detection session
  • Used to analyze facial expressions and micro-expressions in a fun, game-like manner

2. How Is the Face Data Used?

Face data is used exclusively for simulated and entertainment purposes:

  1. Prank-style Lie Detection: Facial images are temporarily sent to a backend service (Firebase) and analyzed using OpenAI’s Vision API. The analysis simulates a humorous result for fun, not real detection.
  2. Real-Time Entertainment: Users receive instant and playful feedback based on facial expressions—intended strictly for entertainment.
  3. No On-Device Storage: Facial images are never stored on your device and are discarded immediately after analysis.

3. Are Face Images Shared with Third Parties?

Yes, face data is shared with third-party services strictly for real-time analysis and is not stored persistently.

  • Firebase Functions (Google Cloud): Temporarily receives facial images for processing.
  • OpenAI Vision API: Analyzes the images and returns simulated prank-style results.

Storage Details:

  • Firebase: Images are processed in-memory and never stored persistently.
  • OpenAI: Images are processed according to OpenAI's data retention policy.
  • The App: Facial data is not stored or retained within the app’s infrastructure.

4. Face Data Retention

  • On-Device: Images are not retained; they are immediately discarded after analysis.
  • Firebase: No persistent storage; images are handled in memory only.
  • OpenAI: Retention is subject to OpenAI's policies.
